Thanks for visiting my website and blog.
I feel the Wall Street protests would be more successful in making their point if they
stick to a code of democratic, civil expression i.e. non-violent, like they have found
to be most successful in India, South Africa and also in the U.S.
Without capitalism, people in the West probably would not enjoy the high standards of living that prevail. It is a sad part of the thinking or misunderstanding in the system,
a kind of kink if you will, which has made the system less than perfect....So there is
great hope once people start listening and try to make amends.
There was an enlightened fellow called Andrew Carnegie; he wrote a book called
The Gospel of Wealth.
If today's billionaires and super-billionaires take a reading from that Gospel, the
world will become a better place. When people put their name to their wealth and
turn what they own into wealth that bears their name and becomes useful to a lot
of people. That is the only way. Look at the Carnegie Mansion on Fifth Avenue,
the house of Lady Astor, Vanderbilt, et al. Their names live on because they
bequethed their wealth to the people.
