The American statesman Benjamin Franklin left the world some very useful tools.
One I read about is the Self Monitor (or whatever it is called)
On one page of a notebook draw 7 columns, one for each day.
Down the lines, write a habit, character trait, virtue, task, to-do thing.
Make the bed
Iron some clothes
Tidy the room
A practical list, really.
Then each day tick the task you've done.
After a little while,it all becomes automatic.
Doing small everyday practical tasks always brings joy to life. It is in place of retail therapy.
