Today seems to be the beginning of the Five Day Hajj at Arafat, which devout Muslims
crave to visit once in a lifetime at least, such is the spiritual significance.
Here people seem to fall into a trance, directing all their thoughts to Allah, and
asking the Merciful One to grant their wishes. Which are mainly to do with family
unity, understanding, fairness, fair-dealings, Peace, and stability in their countries.
Those are exactly the same aspirations all people have, I would say.
There was someone from Syria praying fervently for an end to the revolution
people want there. I think that is reasonable.
After the bout of revolutions in the Middle East, not much has been achieved.
They have become countries minus the leaders they have removed.
Syria has a listening, liberal President, who seems to listen to his peoples' wishes.
Perhaps they should stop the chanting and so on, and give President Assad a chance
to implement some of the reforms they need.
I join our Muslim friends in their prayers for Peace.
Yesterday I was reading the Book of Mormon.
There is a note in the Index, that Nephi and his brother married the daughters of
Ishmael. Is that the same Ishmael as the son of Hajjar and Abraham?
If so, that is a link that unites Israel and the Twelve Tribes of the Middle East,
which are today the Twelve Kingdoms.
Shalom! Salaam! May Peace be unto ye!
