Today was the Rememberance Sunday prayer at the Church of Latter Day Saints here
in Ilford, Essex. The Church President made a memorable speech, saying the
last two world wars were as one long war, and it was as if Christ had been re-crucified,
such was the brutality and severity of the hostilities.
"It was as if Christ had been re-crucified....." Those words rang in my brain. In my
heart, my sould,my mind. Such a thing must never ever happen again, I hope. I
prayed there in the Church, which has some beautiful paintings depicting Christ
being baptized in the river, Christ praying to His Father, and Christ offering
hope of mercy and salvation to one Seeker.
On a glorious sun-filled morning, in a country where all are free, in a gathering
filled with love.....I prayed that God will make all communities like this, where
throughout the world, people are civilized and enjoy the gift of freedom and
One day, by grace of God, the whole world will be like this, all of us as brothers
and sisters in humanity.
