I got double the average number of visitors.
When I worked in Market Research (for twelve-and-a-half years with Ipsos-MORI)
I used to ask people on council estates what they would like to see.
Lot of them said they would like to see the re-introduction of sizeable discounts,
like Mrs (now Baroness) Thatcher had introduced - 3 percent for each year of
tenure. Something on that scale would warm the cockles of peoples' hearts.
It would be a winning ticket to wealth creation.
Lot of people bought their council houses, used that as collateral to open
restaurants and convenience stores and cash and carrys. Banks gave them loans
to buy Daimlers and 4x4's. That's what people like, visible signs of wealth.
Whole neighbourhoods become gentrified, people wear better quality of
I very much hope Mr Cameron and Mr Clegg will instigate the introduction
of such a policy. It's a dream ticket for a lot of people.
