Last night one of the Church members and his wife invited me to dinner.
Corn soup, jacket potato, rolls, and a Scottish dessert with raspberries.
Delicious. Not only that, but Cranberry concentrate mixed with Lemon juice, 1 part to 2. Fan-tas-tic!
The Elders read something from their book (I am just starting to learn more about the Latter Day Saints), in which it said the soldiers took a meal of pulses and water in preference to the meal offered by the mean of the King of Babylon.
Wholesome, simple food gives good health.
According to the Mormons, people should ideally not drink, not smoke, not take narcotics, nor drink tea, nor coffee. I am a tea drinker, so that's a small restriction.
But as I have always thought, God's word (through any religion) advocates what is good for mankind. The central premise of all religions are the same, the Majesty of God and the brotherhood of Mankind, tolerance, understanding, progress.
