I enjoyed watching the Charlie Rose show on TV yesterday. Jeremy Rifkin, author of the book, The Third Industrial Revoluton, says Germany is being built on the Five Pillars of this latest wave of industrial progress, and by 2026 it will have houses which are powered by solar on the roof, wind power by the windows, and geothermal from the ground. Those will be quite expensive to build, I guess, but this progressing wave will create many more industries as it will probably leave obsolete.
There is another book on this subject, published in 1989, so it seems a time-frame of approximately 45 years for embracing and implementing such innovations.
Seems very interesting. I wonder what are the plans by the rest of the world?
I am always interested to hear your views also, so please drop me a line.
