Happy Easter, dear Readers.
Today Easter Sunday was the appropriate occassion for the congregation to eulogize the life of Christ.
Sister Aldeen Brodie gave the following lovely words :
"Wise men brought him gifts and shepherds worshipped Him.
His knowledge of Jewish law enabled Him to have informed discussions with His seniors.
For 3 years he served a tortuous mission. He had Twelve Apostles.
He raised the dead, healed the sick, fed the hungry.
In Gethsamane, He suffered agony on our behalf.
He knew what it was to be hungry, unloved, ridiculed.
The Lord Jesus left us with His words :
"A new Commandment I give unto thee,
that you love one another as I have loved thee."
"With what judgement ye judge, ye too shall be judged likewise".
Sister Vanessa Theed read her golden words :-
"He was the first one capable of making the perfect Atonement
for the whole of Mankind.
That all might repent and come unto Him.
Precisely as prophesied, He became the First Priest of the Resurrection"
Easter was celebrated with fellowship and singing of Hymns, and we had a Baptism
yesterday, that of Brother Geegan Charit Ruckmal, who is from Sri Lanka.
His wife and two lovely children supported his baptism, and today Brother Charit
received the gift of the Holy Spirit. May all the good things flow to him with God's blessings.
I wish you a Happy Easter, and celebrate the life of our Lord Jesus the Christ, the Redeemer, the Resurrected One, the Light, the Life.
