Quite often, I get visitors from all such exotic locations. Should I try and write a spy thriller?
Welcome all visitors and readers to my blog and website, I am pleased an international
audience reads my words.
Life is interesting, and the world is always going through phases which make life interesting.
There was jubilation at the election of Signor Mariano Rajoy as PM in Spain. Today, however,
their yields on bonds seem a touch too high. To help resolve the debt issue, first the 17
nations of the Eurozone have to stand firmly together; they are all under the umbrella of
the Euro. Secondly, there should be legislation that ensures tolerable conidtions exist,
for example, margin requirements on bonds should be such that the yield goes up only a
wee bit above 4 percent.
If U.S. bond yields are near 2 pc, like that of Germany, why do other nations have to suffer
punitive yields like 5-6 pc or more? That is a disparity, and a recipe for disaster.
There should be convergence of interest rates, that is what monetary union is about.
I would be pleased to hear your views.
